Match report
Círculo Parque Avellaneda and Def. Agronomía Centro shared the points in a match where the intentions were similar but the finishing was conspicuous by its absence. The 1-1 draw on matchday 13 in GBA Sur reflected two sides that respected each other without too much intensity, both set up in a balanced 4-4-2 that ended up being more a statement of principles than a winning strategy. Santi Pawlak opened the scoring for the hosts with a goal that gave Avellaneda some breathing room, although Yair Spinelli's response was not long in coming to level things up. The Agronomía Centro striker, in the best physical shape at 26 years of age, found enough space to punish the defensive errors.
What was interesting was how both teams managed the match without taking too many risks. Sebastián Rodríguez, the midfielder from Mendoza who runs Círculo's midfield, put in a solid display with a rating of 7, keeping things organised without shining. For the visitors, Federico Aizaga at left-back was more active than his colleagues, with a rating of 7.1, trying to provide width without making it count. Dante Murat from the hosts' right flank provided an assist on the way to the goal, although he ended up booked for repeated fouls. Pawlak's yellow card for the hosts completed a disciplinary tally that reflects a scrappy match, without sustained attacking fluency.
For Círculo Parque, the home draw leaves a bitter taste considering they had the initiative. For Def. Agronomía, rescuing a point away from home always adds up in these divisions, where travel takes its toll. Both continue to pick up one point at a time, which in the battle for the top spots in GBA Sur can mean falling behind if rivals make better use of their chances.
