Match report

Aurora de Coghlan took a comfortable win at Social y Deportivo Villa Riachuelo's pitch with a 2-0 scoreline that left no room for a comeback. The visitors arrived in GBA Sur with a clear intention and carried it out without hesitation. Villa Riachuelo set up in a balanced 4-4-2 which, on paper, looked solid, but in practice fell short against an Aurora side that knew exactly where to aim. It was a match where the approaches were similar, but the difference lay in the efficiency of the side that finished when it had to finish.

Enrique Trillini was the executioner of the home side. The 24-year-old striker, with a rating of 8.4 for his performance, scored both goals and showed why Aurora have backed him in their attack. While Villa Riachuelo moved with a certain inertia in defence, with Fabián Pedraza and Francisco Lara doing their jobs properly but without any sparkle (both with a 6.7 rating), Trillini found space and made the most of it with cold-blooded composure. The visitors' defence, with Maicol Paredes and Nilo Curi holding the lines together, did not suffer any major scares. Claudio Pietrzak tried to be an attacking outlet at left-back for the home side, but could do little in a match Aurora controlled at their own pace. The yellow card shown to Octavio Rivero was a minor blemish in a solid display from the visitors' full-back.

The result leaves Villa Riachuelo needing to rethink their structure. It was not a thrashing, but it was emphatic: Aurora arrived, delivered and left with the three points. Trillini showed that when a striker has a rating of 8.4, it is no coincidence; it is because he knows how to finish. For the home side, matchday 8 will remain a barren spell where there were no answers and no flashes of brilliance, only a visiting team that knew exactly what it was going to do from the outset.
