C. y Barrio Retiro earned a well-deserved win against Deportivo Constitución Veteranos on matchday ten of Primera L — GBA Oeste, in a fixture where both sides set up with similar systems but where the home side made better use of their chances. The final 1-0 reflected the pattern of a tight contest, with little in the way of flowing football, where defensive solidity came before any attacking intent. Diego Verde in the home goal had little to do, though he did pick up a yellow card that speaks to a certain temperament in the Retiro goalmouth. At the other end, Edu Bianchi and his fellow visitors arrived from Rosario with little spark, unable to breach a defence that stayed compact throughout the ninety minutes.
What stood out in the fixture was the midfield, where Joaco Montenegro, the holding midfielder of just seventeen who comes from Comodoro Rivadavia, put in a solid performance for his age and rating. Genaro Arriaga, on the other side, even younger at sixteen, tried to contribute from that position but without the consistency needed to break the home lines. Osvaldo Galindo in the Retiro back line marked with precision, while Tomás Mancini, the Uruguayan centre-half, also collected a card but showed good reading of the game. Jeremías Bruschi completed the home defence without any alarms. Rolando Toledo had a few flashes down the visitors' right, but never with enough clarity to create real danger.
The victory leaves C. y Barrio Retiro well placed to capitalise in the table, though without showing overwhelming football. For Deportivo Constitución Veteranos, the result is a setback that highlights the squad's limitations: ratings hovering around 6.4 and 6.6 in key positions are not enough to compete on equal terms in this division. The visitors head home pointless and with little to take away beyond their attitude.
