Match report
Juventud Abasto left no room for doubt on matchday 10 of Primera L GBA Oeste. The home side beat El Vencedor de Montserrat 2-0 in a match where balanced approaches ultimately clearly favoured the home team. Both sides opted for 4-4-2, but the difference lay in execution and in the ability of the Abasto side to turn their chances into goals. Leonardo Arnaldi opened the scoring in the first half, followed by Ivo Caro's goal after the break, sealing a comfortable win that strengthens Juventud Abasto's place in the table.
Midfielder Fabián Gallo was decisive in the home side's set-up, constantly pushing down the right and creating disorder in the visitors' defence. Tobías Conti and the aforementioned Caro exerted permanent control from the back line, with ratings of 7.3 and 7.2 respectively, preventing Elías Zunino and the rest of the Montserrat attack from finding space. Emiliano Arestizabal, on his side, carried out a solid defensive job with no major scares. Arnaldi, the 26-year-old Uruguayan striker, was the man who settled it in the first half with a goal that confirmed the home side's tactical superiority.
El Vencedor de Montserrat could do little against that superiority. Lucas Greenberg was booked in his work down the flank, while Saúl Turi also picked up a yellow card in his attempt to create an attacking threat on the left. Zunino, with a rating of 6.6, did not have the space required to show his usual versatility. The visitors were unable to compete on equal terms and went down convincingly. For Juventud Abasto, three vital points on a matchday where they strengthened their positive run in the competition.
