Sportivo Flores Sur1 - 1Atlético Villa Devoto FC

Sportivo Flores Sur and Atlético Villa Devoto FC shared the points in a match where both line-ups showed each other respect from the opening minute. The 1-1 draw at Flores Sur’s pitch left mixed feelings: for the home side, a missed chance to take all three points; for the visitors, a result that could have been worse after a tricky start. Both teams opted for similar set-ups in terms of structure, a balanced 4-4-2, which led to an even game where individual quality mattered more than tactical systems.

Olivier Berecibar opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that allowed the hosts to feel comfortable in the early stages. The Mendoza-born striker, still a goalscorer at 34, made his experience count. However, Javier Brassi levelled things up for Villa Devoto with an intervention that showed why he remains a reference point in defensive midfield. The Patagonian midfielder, who came through regional tournaments without much fanfare, found the right moment to bring them level. Alfredo Saliba in the middle of Flores Sur tried to provide cover, though he ended up picking up a yellow card. Mirko Ordoñez, in the home goal, did his job by keeping out the visitors’ attacks. Lucho Taveggia, Villa Devoto’s Uruguayan attacking midfielder, found space but could not finish clearly when the chances came.

The draw did not fully satisfy either side. Flores Sur lacked penetration in the final third to extend their lead in the first half, while Villa Devoto needed greater efficiency in transition. Mirko Baragiola at left-back for the hosts did what was required, though without standing out. At the final whistle, both sides felt they had left points on the table. For Flores Sur at home, it was a painful result. For Villa Devoto, just a point that slows their ambitions but keeps them in the race.
