Argentinos de Chacarita and Aurora de Coghlan shared the points in a match where defending was the real star. The goalless draw on matchday 14 of Primera L - GBA Sur was the result of two sides that came in with balanced game plans and, in the end, cancelled each other out on a pitch where clear chances were nowhere to be seen. Both sides set out to play from a cautious stance, with little desire to be exposed at the back, which ended up producing a flat contest where clearances were plentiful and risky moves were scarce.
Uriel Tellini, the 19-year-old goalkeeper for Argentinos, put in a solid performance in his home side's defensive role, showing the maturity the position demands at this level. At the other end, Bruno Avanzi, Aurora's teenage keeper who is only 16, also came through when needed, although the pressure on his goal was minimal. In midfield, Xavier Altolaguirre ran the show for the visitors with his 33 years of experience, while Osvaldo Aizpurua, the Argentinos striker now in the final stretch of his career at 38, found no space to make a difference. Aizpurua was booked during the match, as was Bruno Avanzi, in cautions that reflected the physicality of the game more than any serious fouls. Maicol Paredes, Aurora's Mendoza-born centre-back, was solid in defence, alongside a defensive system that prioritised order over creativity.
The result leaves both teams in an awkward position: without a win, but at least without defeat. For Argentinos de Chacarita, playing at home without being able to break down the opposition's rearguard is always a missed opportunity. Aurora, by contrast, got what it came for: leaving with something from a difficult away fixture. In a division where points are hard to come by, this draw will probably not fully satisfy either side, but at least both avoided greater damage.
