Estrella Agronomía were not brilliant, but they were fair. At GBA Norte stadium, against AC Villa Riachuelo, the home side prevailed 1-0 with the kind of efficiency only experience and tactical order can bring. Both teams came to play on an even footing, without backing down, without mad gambles. It was one of those matches where the margins are tiny and a single action decides everything. Yago Lucero, the thirty-six-year-old left-back, was the one who found the opening. The veteran from Patagonia netted the only goal of the afternoon, crowning a performance in which consistency outweighed creativity.
At the back, Estrella Agronomía held a solid back four. Néstor Aranzeta in goal posted a 7.7 rating, barely troubled by a visiting side that never really managed to find attacking depth. The young centre-back Polaco Tabares (7.4) did his job without fuss, shoring up the area alongside the defensive structure that Loly Venturini (7.3) helped contain at right-back. Alfredo Iturbe (7.4) on the right flank had his moments of involvement, though AC Villa Riachuelo did not allow him to make much more of an impact. At the other end, Tincho Aloma was booked without being able to unsettle the home defence, while centre-back Adolfo Amezaga, just a seventeen-year-old lad, also saw yellow. Joaquín Zola, the Brazilian left-back who had only just turned sixteen, did not have the match to shine.
The visitors were not poor, they simply lacked the clarity needed to break down a system that Estrella Agronomía kept rock solid. Villa Riachuelo created openings without turning them into genuine danger, a shortcoming that in the inland leagues is punished without mercy. Lucero settled the matter with his goal and that was enough. A victory that strengthens the home side in the table and that, beyond its austerity, says plenty about a structure capable of winning without overexposing itself.
