Match report
Federación Pompeya and Deportivo Constitución Veteranos shared the points on an afternoon when neither side had the ability to tip the balance decisively. The final 2-2 sums up well what was a match of similar approaches, with both sides lining up in a 4-4-2 formation with balanced mentality, looking more for organisation than adventure. In GBA Oeste, where points are hard fought and slow to come by, a draw like this leaves a bitter taste for anyone who came hoping to take all three points.
Pocho Tronci, the thirty-one-year-old forward brought up in Comodoro Rivadavia, scored for the home side in a display where he showed the reflexes of a man who still has an appetite for goals despite the years. Dylan Milos also got on the scoresheet from right-back, with the 7.2 rating he posted confirming that playing on the flank comes almost naturally to him. At the other end, the youngster Genaro Arriaga, at just sixteen, was not overawed and found the net, showing that Constitución Veteranos have home-grown talent of their own. Felipe Santini, the twenty-seven-year-old Chilean midfielder who darts between the lines with slyness, also scored. Lucas Baragiola was one of Pompeya's most precise midfielders with an assist, while Joel Hidalgo, the centre-back from Comodoro who knows all about tough matches, played the ball out from the back with his assist.
In truth, the draw reflected teams that cancelled each other out without ever finding the clarity that separates the winners. Samuel Miguens in Pompeya's defence had to deal with some good attempts, but the 7.1 rating suggests it was not his best afternoon. For Constitución Veteranos, a point away from home is never bad, but nor is it what they wanted. Federación Pompeya are not making ground in the tournament either as they would like. On matchday fifteen, both remain in the mix but without any real breakthrough.
