Reservas Floresta showed no mercy on their home pitch and dismantled Juventud Abasto with a 4-0 thrashing that left no room for argument. Both teams lined up in similar shapes, a balanced 4-4-2 that promised nothing more than an intent to play, but the hosts found the openings the visitors could never close. The gap in quality was ultimately vast, and by the twenty-minute mark it was already all pointed towards a hiding.
Benjamín Arrillaga was the executioner of the afternoon. The 27-year-old forward, with a rating of 8.4, scored twice and made it clear why he is the team’s attacking reference point. He has that coldness in the box that marks out strikers who know the trade, who know where to be when the ball arrives. Hugo Sartori at left-back was solid in the challenge, while Lito Ferreyra at the back line read the visiting attack’s movements well. Enrique Puebla, the right-back who almost by chance arrived at Floresta years ago, put in a decent shift although he picked up a yellow card for overzealousness. Even Pocho Arbide, that 37-year-old veteran who keeps battling away on the wing, found pockets to hurt them. At the other end, Seba Zella and Galo Andueza tried but came up against an organised defence that gave them nothing. Leandro Tassone in Juventud Abasto’s goal could scarcely do anything different; he was a spectator to his own downfall.
Reservas Floresta’s superiority was so emphatic that after the first half the fixture was already a formality. The home side kept their defensive balance while looking to extend the lead, and Juventud Abasto never came close to halving the deficit. For the visitors, this is a hard result to stomach; for the hosts, three points that strengthen their standing in the upper reaches of Primera L - GBA Oeste.
