Match report

La Gloria de Boedo dominated without alarm in the western Buenos Aires area and put Almagro to the sword with a 2-0 scoreline that reflected the superiority of a squad that found its automatisms on home turf. The home side, with a 4-4-2 shape and balanced mentality, did not need any great exertion to settle the fixture of matchday 15. Almagro came away from home with the same tactical structure but without the resources to sustain the tempo imposed by their rivals, and ended up paying dearly for that difference in performance.

Lucho Pereyra was the great protagonist in attack. The Catamarca attacking midfielder, 28 years old and in the full bloom of his career, scored one of the goals and provided an assist to round off a 7.7 rating display that made him the undisputed man of the match. His ability to create space and link up with the full-backs proved decisive. Santino Vaccari and José Ruffini were solid in defence, while Chino Negrete, the 37-year-old veteran, was faultless at left-back. Bastian Brignoli completed the midfield with a discreet but effective presence. On the visitors' side, Ramón Spadafora tried to be the organiser from central midfield with a 6.7, but Yair Jiménez, the 16-year-old young prospect at right-back, was compromised and picked up a yellow card without being able to stop the attacks coming down his flank. Galo Cadel was no luckier on the opposite wing.

La Gloria took a victory that strengthens their campaign. Almagro, by contrast, will have to rethink their defensive automatisms. Neither identical shapes nor similar mentalities were enough to compete when the rival executes their weapons better. In a league like the Primera L of GBA Oeste, that difference in quality is paid for in the two points that stay in Boedo today.
