General Alvear de Once displayed their football at home and gave Ferro Balvanera no options. With a balanced formation and good judgement in possession, the hosts won 3-0 on matchday 17 of the Primera L de CABA, in a fixture where the gap in performance was clear from the outset. Ferro came with the same tactical shape but without the precision needed to trouble a defence that worked like a wall for the full ninety minutes.
Emanuel Molina and Antonio Zumpano in the home back line kept things solid, while in midfield Coco Granado orchestrated the moves with authority. At thirty-one, the General Alvear midfielder was not only about containment but also attacking intent: he contributed a goal and an assist in a display that reflected his maturity and experience. José Couto, a thirty-four-year-old forward, also joined the attacking party with a goal and an assist, showing that veteran know-how still carries weight in these divisions. José Riquelme on the left was a handful at key moments. For the visitors, Salvador Zanchi tried to stem the tide with authority but picked up a yellow card that limited his aggression. Horacio Bonansea and Lorenzo Egea, much younger but with lower ratings, found neither space nor depth in attack. Ferro were outplayed in every area and unable to generate sustained danger.
The visitors' top scorer was practically absent from the fixture. General Alvear, by contrast, found the route to the opposition net with ease, taking advantage both of the quality of their experienced footballers and of the tactical imbalance that became more pronounced as the minutes ticked by. For Ferro, this defeat is an important wake-up call in their bid to establish themselves in the league. For General Alvear, a victory that strengthens their position and shows that the blend of experience and youth in their ranks is working.
