Sportivo Flores Sur1 - 0Club Atlético San Silvines De Boedo

Sportivo Flores Sur took a tight match against Vet. Barracas thanks to a solitary goal that proved enough to seal a deserved victory on matchday 17 of the Primera L de CABA. The match unfolded under a balance of tactical order, with both 4-4-2 sides cancelling each other out for much of the game, and neither team managing to create any sustained clear-cut chances. The goal came through midfield precision: Alfredo Saliba, the 26-year-old central midfielder who already has a goal this season, was the man who broke the deadlock at a point when tension had taken over the match.

The home defence worked smoothly thanks to the efforts of Claudio Santini, the 33-year-old Mendoza centre-back who is already nearing the end of his career but still reads the game with the experience of someone who cut his teeth on dusty pitches. Mirko Ordoñez, the 25-year-old goalkeeper, was secure between the posts without needing to produce any heroics. Up front, Olivier Berecibar, the 34-year-old striker from Mendoza, had his moments but never quite clicked with the rhythm of the match. Bautista Peñaloza, the 21-year-old right-back brought up in Tigre, did his job solidly without standing out.

Vet. Barracas found no effective answers in attack. Matías Caggiano, their main focal point up front at 27, was neutralised by the home defence. The full-backs Sebastián Barba and Kiki Milán barely had any room to get forward. It was a match in which Sportivo Flores Sur did enough to win: less spectacular than effective, more containing than eye-catching. The three points at home are pure gold at this stage of the season.
