Match report
In a match where both teams were seeking the same thing without quite finding it, Atlético Palermo Hollywood FC and Ferro Pompeya shared the points on matchday 7 of Primera I GBA Oeste. The 1-1 draw was a fair reflection of two well-balanced line-ups that cancelled each other out over the ninety minutes, with neither side managing to establish clear superiority. Andrés Tellini opened the scoring for the home side with a goal that appeared to set Palermo Hollywood on course for victory, but Tito Ibarra levelled for the visitors with the composure of someone who understands that every point counts in these tournaments.
Comodororrivense centre-back Julián Vitale was the one who set up Tellini’s goal, showing that Palermo Hollywood retain a solid foundation in defence. Tellini, aged 28 and with a rating of 7.2, was the home side’s most active attacking player, although he received little support from midfield. For Ferro, Tito Ibarra, that youngster from Merlo who joined the club almost by chance, showed the instincts that define him when he converted the equaliser. His goal, just as valid as anyone else’s, levelled a contest in which Ferro Pompeya kept their shape through their full-back Wilfredo Vitale, a 31-year-old veteran who is still going strong on the pitch.
What was clear was that Palermo Hollywood had the chance to take all three points but lacked ruthlessness when it mattered. 19-year-old goalkeeper Luciano Cerda did his job without any alarms, although he was not truly tested either. The draw was mildly frustrating for the home side, who were playing at home, but the reality is that both teams left points on the table. For Ferro Pompeya, a point away from home is never a bad result, although they will be left with the feeling that they were close to getting something more.
