Match report
Ferro Pompeya and Central de Belgrano R El Barrio shared the points in a match where both teams prioritised defensive organisation over attacking ambition. The final 0-0 at Ferro's home stadium in Caballito reflected two well-balanced approaches that cancelled each other out, with neither side managing to find the openings needed to seriously trouble the opposing goalkeeper. A grey night in Primera I GBA Oeste, matchday 14, where the ball moved from one side to the other without much clear purpose.
Wilfredo Vitale, Ferro's thirty-one-year-old right-back, was one of the few players who tried to create something down the wings, although he picked up a yellow card that forced him to ration his attacking movements. For the visitors, Rolando Stankovic in defence and the experienced Javier Wolf in attack performed without surprises, while the seventeen-year-old youngster Hernán Turetta had to contend with the match's tactical sterility without being able to impose his freshness. Cacho Marín, with all the experience of his twenty-nine years in attack, was also unable to break the railway side's defensive concentration. The 7.1 ratings for Vitale, Stankovic and Wolf were not enough to tip the balance either way.
The goalless draw leaves both sides with a sense of a missed opportunity, although also with the reassurance of not having lost. For Ferro, at home, there was the bitter taste of failing to make home advantage count. For Central de Belgrano R El Barrio, it was a point salvaged away from home that did not generate much enthusiasm either. In the league table, both continue in mid-table without any major concerns, but without applying pressure further up.
