Unión Palermo Hollywood1 - 0Atlético Villa Devoto FC

Unión Palermo Hollywood beat Atlético Villa Devoto FC in a match where neither side wanted to take too many risks. The 1-0 came without any fuss, without that feeling that something big was happening on the pitch, but with enough solidity for the home side to take the three points on matchday 9 of the Primera L de CABA. Both approaches were balanced, two 4-4-2 set-ups that looked for order before attacking flair. Villa Devoto arrived in the west of the city with no intention of changing anything, aware of its limitations, while Palermo Hollywood managed its home advantage with the patience of a side that knows the opposition will not cause many alarms.

Unión's full-backs were decisive in territorial control. Benjamín Zuccotti on the right and Eric Zambelli on the left carried out precise defensive duties, with no wasted movement, while Patricio Sifuentes on the right wing created danger in the spaces. In midfield, Darío Valentini was the playmaker, the sort of player who does not rely on a single foot to link the lines. The central defence with Lucio Bottani had little work thanks to Villa Devoto never finding the pace needed to threaten. Javier Brassi in the visitors' midfield tried to shut down the game with marking, but only managed scraps: he picked up a yellow card that set the defensive tone of the fixture. Ian Balerdi on the right and Sandro Caro in the middle completed a visiting side that simply had no answer to what Palermo Hollywood offered.

The decisive goal was not an act of genius but the result of patience. Unión were superior in transitions, better in the shorter distances, and more effective in positioning. Villa Devoto came away without any major defeats in their recent record, but this Tuesday they were simply overshadowed. For Palermo Hollywood, the win consolidates their progress in the competition, though without any grand ambitions: just three more points in a season where consistency seems more valuable than fireworks.
