N. Estrella Floresta0 - 2Federación Liniers

Federación Liniers secured a convincing victory in the West, with two goals sealing their superiority away from home against an N. Estrella Floresta side that found no answers in midfield. Both teams lined up with similar setups, balanced 4-4-2s, but the difference lay in their finishing: Gabi Bettega was lethal on the right side of the Liniers attack, scoring one of the two goals in a performance that established him as the main creator for the away side. The hosts never managed to contain him or find the spaces to threaten at the back, despite having Silvio Lagos in central midfield, who was booked without being able to impose any rhythm in the middle of the pitch.

Federación Liniers goalkeeper Ariel Abud, just 23 years old, barely had any work to do in the second half. His right-back, Omar Zoppi, was a defensive wall, bringing thirty years of experience, while the central defensive pairing of Pipa Ojeda and Paraguayan Axel Bonomi shut down every attempt by the home side to break through. At the back, the visiting side's solidity was absolute. For N. Estrella Floresta, Loly Olmedo had no opportunities to deal with aerial balls as he usually does, while Santino Palomeque, the holding midfielder, proved insufficient to halt the flow of the opposition's attacks.

The result leaves Federación Liniers with a comfortable victory that propels them up the West table, while the hosts will have to review their patterns of play. Lagos, Olmedo and Palomeque will have a chance to make amends next matchday, but tonight Liniers were clearly superior. Bettega takes the headlines from a night in which the difference was made by execution and the ability to circulate the ball in midfield.
