Federación Liniers4 - 1N. Estrella Floresta

Federación Liniers left no room for doubt on the opening matchday of Primera I - GBA Oeste. With a commanding 4-1 win over N. Estrella Floresta, the home side imposed their class from the outset in a match where both teams set up similarly, but the hosts showed greater attacking clarity. The difference in rating between the teams was quickly reflected on the scoreboard: Valentín Valeriani, with an 8.4 performance rating, was the deadly finisher, scoring twice to settle the contest long before the final whistle.

Valeriani, born in Merlo in neighbourhoods where football is the only compass for many youngsters, gave the visiting defence a nightmare afternoon. Alongside him, Ramón Grabowski joined the attacking party with a goal from the left flank, showing that Federación Liniers had found reliable ways to breach their opponents. Gabriel Buonocore controlled things comfortably from centre-back with a 7.7, while Ariel Abud in goal barely had any real work to do. For N. Estrella Floresta, only Santino Palomeque managed to pull one back with a goal that proved merely cosmetic, assisted by Silvio Lagos in a late attempt to make something count in Merlo. Maicol Ortega, the 23-year-old forward from Comodoro Rivadavia, had a difficult afternoon: his yellow card summed up an otherwise lacklustre performance.

The visitors arrived in GBA Oeste without answers to what Federación Liniers had to offer. The balanced mentality of both sides was not enough for N. Estrella Floresta, who were outplayed in the speed of their passing and their ability to punish mistakes. With this emphatic victory, the hosts took the lead in the group with three routine points, while the Floresta side will have to rethink several things after a painful defeat on their debut.

In the last meeting between Federación Liniers and N. Estrella Floresta: 1 win for Federación Liniers, 0 draws and 0 for N. Estrella Floresta.
