Coming from another online football manager? What changes in ELDT
If you’ve played other online football managers, here’s what’s different in ELDT: the pace, the market, live matches, the academy and a Supporter with no advantages.

If you’ve got this far, chances are you’ve already managed a club in another online football manager game. Maybe you spent years on one of the classics, like ManagerZone, OSM or Top Eleven, and got fed up with the pace, the interface, or the feeling that the person paying was getting an edge. This guide is for you: we’ll tell you what stays the same, what changes in ELDT and how to make the most of what you already know from day one.
An online football manager made in Argentina
ELDT is a free online football manager, designed and written here. Clubs have neighbourhood and city names, the divisions are named like the Argentine pyramid (Primera División, Primera Nacional, B Metro, Primera C, Primera D) and the whole game is in Rioplatense Spanish. You play from your browser, with nothing to download, and there’s also an Android app on Google Play.

Every club is run by a real person. The leagues are filled out with computer-run clubs while new managers arrive, and when a manager joins, they take one of those spots.
The pace: two matchdays a week
One of the most common complaints about the classic managers is how slow they are: one match a week and seasons that drag on for months. In ELDT the league is played on Thursday and Saturday nights, from 21:00 Argentine time, with a set time for each division. Each league has 16 clubs playing home and away: 30 matchdays.
On top of that, the Copa ELDT is played on Tuesdays at 21:00, the youth tournament on Thursday and Saturday mornings, and friendlies are up to you whenever you want outside those times. There’s always something to watch or prepare, but no matchday forces you to be online: the match goes ahead anyway, with the line-up you’ve saved.
How you get started
You’re not given a club at random. You enter your manager name, choose the country and the game shows you two clubs with their squad, level and starting cash. If you’re not convinced, you can ask for another two. You enter the highest division with a free place, and from there it’s up to you to climb.
The first thing worth doing is the same as in any manager: look over the squad, set your line-up (and hit Save) and choose what to train. You’ve got the guide to your first match, which also includes a short video recorded about the actual game.
The market: everything goes through auctions
If you’re used to managers with direct buying or face-to-face negotiation, this is where the mindset changes: in ELDT all transfers between clubs are settled by 3-day auctions. If someone bids in the last 3 minutes, the auction is extended, so there’s no such thing as “I won it in the last second”. On each market card you can see which club is selling the player and whether it’s run by a manager or the system.
To make sure you don’t miss anything, you’ve got followed players, your bids panel and saved searches that alert you when a player who fits your needs goes on sale. The full breakdown is in the market guide and how to buy players.
Matches are watched live
Matches are not just a result that shows up the next day. They’re played live on a 2D pitch, move by move and narrated minute by minute, and in the live match centre you can watch every ELDT match at once. If you can’t watch it, you’ll still have the highlights and each player’s stats afterwards.
In the line-up you choose your formation, one of five mentalities (from very defensive to very attacking), the style of play, the captain and the set-piece takers. There isn’t a button that tells you the right tactic: the fun is in trying things and working it out.
Training and the academy
Training is chosen for the whole squad and also player by player, and age plus the minutes each player gets affect how much they improve. Older players, as in real life, eventually start to decline. It’s all covered in the training guide.
The academy works with scouts who bring you youngsters, and your youth players have their own tournament. When one is ready, you bring him up to the first team. See the academy and youth guide.
Supporter: no sporting edge and priced in pesos
This is probably the bit you care about most if you’re coming from other games. ELDT can be played in full without paying. The Supporter plan exists to support the game’s development and gives you identity and convenience features: AI-made badge and kit, cover and squad photo, shirt numbers, saved tactics by match type, full training history and the option to create private leagues with friends.
What it does not give you: your team does not play better, train faster or make more money just because you’re a Supporter. It’s paid in pesos with MercadoPago (or in dollars with PayPal), it’s a one-off payment and it does not renew automatically. Full details are in the Supporter guide.
What you already know still helps
The basic logic is the same as ever: a balanced squad, keeping an eye on the money, not going bust in the market, giving the youngsters minutes and riding out the bad runs. If you’ve already managed in other managers, you’ll pick up the finances, sponsors, stadium and staff quickly. What you’ll need to learn are the details of this game, and that’s what the manager guide, the help videos and the glossary are for.
And if you like the social side of managers, the manager community is in the WhatsApp group: that’s where friendlies are arranged, market chat happens and people lend a hand if you get stuck.

Season 3 is coming
In January 2027, Season 3 kicks off, with more Latin American countries, a five-level pyramid and country cups. It’s a good time to join: if you start now, you’ll arrive with your club already built.
