Aurora de Coghlan prevailed against AD Villa Urquiza with a 2-1 win that reflects the even pulse of two teams who went for tactical balance, but where the home side made better use of their chances. Both squads came out in a 4-4-2 formation and with a balanced mentality, which produced a match played end to end without any clear dominance, where efficiency mattered more than control.
Right-back Sergio Marchetti was the first to score for Aurora, a striker aged just eighteen from Comodoro Rivadavia who recently arrived in Buenos Aires after being spotted in an interprovincial tournament. His goal marked a turning point in the rhythm of the fixture. Enrique Trillini, the home striker aged twenty-four who came up through Aurora's academy from Resistencia, extended the lead and sealed the victory with his goal. At the other end, Hernán Fischer, the Brazilian who has been at Villa Urquiza for years, pulled one back with a goal that at least kept the visitors' hopes alive until the end. Xavier Altolaguirre, the central midfielder from Mendoza aged thirty-three with plenty of experience, put in a solid display in Aurora's midfield and was booked. Felipe Coelho, for his part, did his job down the left flank albeit without leaving a lasting mark, and was also booked during the course of the game.
Villa Urquiza had enough about them to take at least a point, but the home defence with Maicol Paredes, the central defender from Mendoza who knows these tight matches well, kept their composure in the critical moments. The result leaves Aurora closer to their targets, while the visitors will have to analyse where they let a match slip that was there for the taking. In the Primera L of the GBA Sur, these details are often the difference between taking all three points or leaving empty-handed.
