A goalless draw without much incident down in the south of the suburban sprawl. Círculo San Telmo and Sociedad Parque Centenario shared the points on matchday 15 of Primera L - GBA Sur, in a fixture where both sides came in with similar approaches but without the spark needed to break the deadlock. The hosts, with their balanced 4-4-2, never found the space to hurt an away defence that was also well organised and compact.
Stefano Velázquez put in a good shift at right-back for the home side, with that pace that has marked his game since his Tigre days, although he failed to turn his runs into clear chances. In midfield, Hernán Basili tried to move the ball around with his usual precision, but found little room to operate. Yago Stankovic, at 37, carried out his defensive duties without fuss, although the passage of time is increasingly telling in his movement. For the visitors, Uriel Schiavi had the odd opening but lacked the support needed to create any real danger in the San Telmo area. The Patagonian striker, just 27 and with plenty of attacking talent, was restricted by a defensive setup that did its job.
The result reflects a match in which neither side really took much of a gamble. Círculo San Telmo missed the chance to move closer to the top spots at home, while Sociedad Parque Centenario left with the feeling that they had got away without any major risk. A draw that pleases nobody but, in the context of the south, is often an acceptable result when the game plans never quite connect.
