AD Palermo Hollywood0 - 2Central de Saavedra El Barrio

Central de Saavedra El Barrio arrived at AD Palermo Hollywood’s pitch and took a comfortable victory that leaves no doubt about who was the better side. The final 2-0 reflects the visitors’ dominance, as they showed defensive solidity and attacking ability that the home side could not counter. Both squads set out with balanced tactics using 4-4-2 formations, but the Saavedra side found the precision along the way that the Palermo Hollywood outfit lacked. The goals came from Nene Areta and Santino Ruiz, two strikers who made the most of the home side’s defensive doubts and punished them without mercy.

Maicol Schmidt, the youngster of just sixteen, put in a standout attacking display for the visitors with a rating of 7.6, showing that Central de Saavedra have a young project that is delivering. Geremías Olivera in midfield was a constant, organising presence, also with 7.4 in his assessment. Emanuel Riquelme, the twenty-seven-year-old goalkeeper, had little to do thanks to the cover his defence provided. For Palermo, midfielders Alfredo Trotta and Manu Gareca did their job, but without the required intensity to stop the opposition’s progress. Indio Berti on the left wing had occasional flashes that were not enough to create any real danger.

The gap in individual ratings was telling: the visitors had four players above 7.0, while at Palermo nobody reached that mark. That sums up the match. The home side had to make do with a drab performance, lacking attacking clarity and without a defence resolute enough to contain Saavedra’s momentum. Thus, on matchday three of Primera I de CABA, Central took three precious points while Palermo Hollywood were left with the task of rethinking their approach.
