Argentino de Chacarita2 - 3Club Paternal

Argentino de Chacarita could not hold on to the lead at home and Club Paternal took a tight win which sums up well what football is like in Primera I de CABA: evenly matched teams, balanced formations, and the difference comes down to the details. The visitors left the Chaca with three points after a five-goal battle where the hosts had chances for a different result but missed at key moments. Paternal knew how to make the most of every opportunity; Argentino de Chacarita had the backing of their fans/supporters but it was not enough.

The afternoon was marked by the attacking stars. Leonel Solís, the sixteen-year-old youngster who arrived from Comodoro Rivadavia not long ago, scored one of the home goals and showed why he is sparking excitement at Chacarita with his pace down the right wing. Walter Murat, a veteran aged twenty-nine, also scored but also picked up a yellow card that shaped his second half. For the visitors, Luciano Mercado was effective on the right and scored one of Paternal's three goals, while Ismael Alkorta, the twenty-eight-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, also scored and was decisive in the visitors' structure. Lalo Rosati, a twenty-year-old full-back still finding his feet in this category, and Benicio Werner in defence kept Paternal's defensive balance. Pipa Barrenetxea on the left helped in attack for the hosts with an assist, but it was not enough.

The match left Argentino de Chacarita with a bitter taste: they played well, had chances, but in a tournament where margins for error are punished like this, they came up short. Paternal, by contrast, strengthens their progress in the upper reaches with a team that delivers on a foreign pitch and knows when to press.
