Match report
La Verdad de Coghlan left Villa Urquiza with a victory that neatly sums up what it means to win away from home in the group: without excessive sparkle, but with just enough solidity to take the three points. The final 2-1 does not lie about what happened on the pitch, where both teams played with twin formations and balanced mindsets that produced a tight match, almost like slow chess. Villa Urquiza Reserva had chances to take something, but La Verdad managed their opportunities better when they came.
Vidal Antonelli was the home side’s goalscorer, a Villa Urquiza midfielder who was born far from Buenos Aires and arrived at the club almost by chance, with nobody really backing him at the time. He scored it with a certain tactical coolness, but it was not enough. At the other end, Walter Del Castillo netted one of his trademark goals: the La Verdad striker, with that nickname from childhood for his ability to finish with both feet, was the one who sealed the away tally. His 6.9 rating barely masks how effective he was where it mattered. Castiglione, the 26-year-old Bahía Blanca left-back who arrived in Coghlan almost by accident after a friendly, did his job without any alarms. Zumpano, that 33-year-old veteran who still treasures his worn boots from his early years in Comodoro Rivadavia, shut down the away defence when needed.
What Villa Urquiza take from this is the feeling of having let slip a match that could have been theirs, while La Verdad de Coghlan confirm that away consistency is a more valuable weapon than any attacking flourish. With this victory on matchday 3, the Coghlan side draw breath in the middle of the table, while the Reservista will have to rethink how to turn the football they create into something more decisive. Antonelli will carry the yellow card as a reminder of an afternoon when they had them there, but it was not to be.
