Club Social y Deportivo San Roque2 - 1Atlético Palermo Hollywood FC

Sportivo Once Norte knew how to make the most of home advantage to secure a victory that, rather than being brilliant, was the sort that is hard-earned when the visiting side arrives determined to make life difficult. The 2-1 against Atlético Palermo Hollywood FC on the first matchday of Primera I of GBA Oeste reflected a match in which both teams tacitly resembled each other: two fours and fours, two balanced mindsets that were not looking to take too many risks. It was a tight game, with little space, in which the team that made fewer mistakes prevailed. El Ruso Rojas was responsible for opening the scoring for the hosts, adding a goal that his years-long career at the club seemed to be demanding. At thirty-one, the forward born in Comodoro Rivadavia remains the sort of player who appears when needed, without fuss.

Valentino Bevilacqua was the other player responsible for keeping Sportivo Once Norte ticking in midfield. The twenty-four-year-old central midfielder, who plies his trade in neighbourhoods where football is the only currency that changes hands without intermediaries, carried out his defensive duties with a rating of 7.7. Toño Weinberg also left his defensive mark before being booked. For the visitors, Claudio Navarro scored to reduce the deficit in a match in which his side never gave up, while Lisandro Tellini contributed an assist from right-back. It was a match without any great attacking flashes, in which the hosts' experience ultimately proved decisive. Sportivo Once Norte achieved the hardest thing in this division: not giving too much away, applying pressure at the right moment and converting their chances. Atlético Palermo Hollywood FC leave with the feeling that they could have drawn, but that is football in the interior of the conurbation: fine margins and punishment for those who fail to take their chances.
