Match report

Ferro Pompeya left no room for doubt at the Municipal Stadium, thrashing Liga Núñez 3–0 in an afternoon when the home side imposed their class from the very first minute. With both teams set up in a balanced 4-4-2, the match unfolded with Ferro controlling the tempo, while the visitors never managed to find space to threaten. All three goals came without any need for elaborate football: it was pure territorial dominance and clinical finishing whenever chances arose. Marcelo Baldelli scored one of them, confirming that his goalscoring ability remains decisive in the home attack. The young Resistencia forward, just 24 years old, showed the hunger that characterises attackers forged in teams from the area.

In defence, Tito Ibarra was a rock at the heart of the back line. The 22-year-old centre-back, developed in the academy after that afternoon in 2019 when a scout found him playing a friendly, displayed defensive maturity well beyond his years. Joaco Rondinelli had little to do in goal, but when called upon he intervened with the assurance that comes from the experience of a 30-year-old goalkeeper who has already passed through various stages of Argentine football. Ezequiel Guerra was precise in distribution from central midfield, although he picked up a yellow card that will mean he must be handled carefully in the coming matches. At 32, Cris Viardot remains useful in building play.

For Liga Núñez, Brazilian Sebastian Mazur tried to hold together a defence that was constantly overrun. The visiting forwards, Vicente Bellandi and Esteban Scopelliti, veterans aged 30 and 31 respectively, could not find the space needed to threaten. It was a grey afternoon for the away side, with no clear chances and a collective performance that never got off the ground. Ferro strengthened their position in the table with a resounding victory that reflects the competitive differences in this division.
