Patriotas Núñez2 - 1Unión Palermo Hollywood

Patriotas Núñez took a victory it knew how to manage through the details against Unión Palermo Hollywood in a match where both sides put forward their own ideas without any major tactical surprises. The final 2-1 hides a tight game, one of those where the difference is made by the details and perhaps a bit of fortune. The home side made better use of their moments, although the visitors had their chances to take something back from CABA. In an opening L that promises competition, Patriotas found answers when they needed them.

Leandro Zambrano was Patriotas' attacking compass, scoring a goal that proved key in building the win. The 29-year-old left winger created constant movement in attack, although he also picked up a yellow card, which leaves him exposed going forward. Adrián Gutiérrez, the forward developed in the academy, complemented that effort well with a presence that troubled the visitors' back line. At the back, Ciro Arcuri showed personality for an 18-year-old centre-back on his important debut, although he was also booked. Mauricio Cacciatore in goal did his job without any major scares. For Unión, Eric Zambelli scored one of the visitors' goals and was a constant threat down the left flank; Pichu Kovaleski from midfield tried to organise his side's play, with an assist to his name. The visitors' defence, however, was left disorganised at certain moments, which Patriotas knew how to punish.

What remains is a Patriotas side taking its first three points in a competition that has only just begun. For Unión Palermo Hollywood, the defeat hurts because it could have been different had they converted one of the chances they had. Matías Borda, the home side's right-back, was also booked in a match where both teams measured each other up without giving anything away. These three points carry weight in the table, although there is still a long way to go in the tournament.
