Match report
Club de Floresta Este took a tight win against Pompeya that left more doubts than certainties in Primera L de CABA. The 1-0 was fair overall, but it was nowhere near a convincing display of football. Both balanced 4-4-2 setups produced a match of little attractive play, where individual errors weighed more heavily than collective success. The goal from Elías Stankovic —the home side’s central midfielder, who turned in a solid overall performance— ended up being the difference on a pitch where neither locals nor visitors managed to produce football worthy of applause.
Floresta Este controlled the action without truly dominating. Rodrigo Weber, a 23-year-old centre-back with his feet firmly in defence, was alert in his area; Camilo Zacchei on the right carried out his defensive duties without incident. On the left, Lolo Leyva —a midfielder approaching thirty— tried to create play but without much clarity. Ramón Anasagasti in midfield picked up a yellow card and was not decisive. For Pompeya, Gael Milán up front had no space to do damage; Néstor Vianello also saw yellow without affecting the result. Sergio Zapata on the visitors’ left tried to offer something going forward but was limited by the home marking.
The visitors had their chances to equalise but were not clinical. Pompeya went looking for it but lacked precision in the final third. For Floresta Este, the win helps in the table, although the feeling left behind is uncomfortable: it was not a match to put minds at ease. The home side got the most important thing done, but if they keep this level of performance, things will become more complicated in the upcoming matchdays. In a league where little separates the teams, ugly wins also count.
