Match report
Sportivo Flores Sur arrived in Villa Crespo and swept aside the home side with a ruthlessness that left no room for interpretation. Three-nil was the final score in matchday 15 of the Primera L de CABA, where the visitors showed a solidity the home team never managed to counter. Both set-ups were balanced on paper, 4-4-2 on both sides, but on the pitch the story was different: Flores Sur executed with precision while Deportivo Villa Crespo Veteranos faded in the attempt.
The numbers say Adriano Bernardo and Alfredo Saliba were the architects of the offensive onslaught, with a goal and an assist apiece in the winning package. Olivier Berecibar, the 34-year-old striker with plenty of experience, also found the back of the net. Mirko Ordoñez, in the Flores Sur goal, had an almost tourist-like afternoon: a 7.1 rating without any major scares. For the home side, Tato Sassi barely ventured into the box, Rodolfo Zapata was a ghost up front and Walter Mazur, at right-back, was exposed by the visitors' pressure. Flores Sur midfielder Walter Montero was booked but moved with ease out wide, while at Villa Crespo the set-up faded away without resistance in midfield.
For Deportivo Villa Crespo Veteranos it was a heavy blow, a 0-3 that hurts more in the table than in the numbers: it exposed the defensive shortcomings and the lack of attacking punch against a rival that controlled the tempo without haste. Sportivo Flores Sur confirmed that they have the credentials to compete at the top of the division, with a forward line that, when it decides to, finishes with cold blood. Back in Villa Crespo, everything will need reviewing.
