Defensores de Retiro Centro showed no mercy on Círculo La Boca in the third matchday of Primera L in GBA Norte. The 2-0 win was emphatic, with the home side setting the pace from the outset and not allowing the visitors to find any space to create danger. Both squads opted for similar set-ups, balanced 4-4-2 formations, but the difference lay in the execution and the home side's defensive solidity, as they controlled the tempo without any need for attacking bluster.
Salvador Aramendia was the home side's standout in attack, scoring one of the goals and showing that ability his neighbours in Resistencia have always recognised in him to finish with either foot. Zacarías Velez, the right-back from Comodoro Rivadavia, also found the net and picked up a yellow card in the process, showing he was willing to go forward when circumstances allowed it. At the back, Bautista Arcuri led the defence naturally for his nineteen years, while Hernán Grilli at left-back was a wall, holding firm without making mistakes. Manuel Prieto, already in his thirties, organised the midfield as only experience can. A yellow card for him and another for Grilli completed a game with no major flashpoints.
For the visitors, Vito Kozlowski in defence and Cataldo Bartolini in midfield tried to hold together a structure that quickly fell apart. Mariano Goñi, still playing on at 37, could not make an impact against a left-back that Grilli was marking with precision. The reality is that Círculo La Boca arrived disconnected, lacking punch up front and predictable in their attempts. For the capital side, this victory strengthens their ambitions in the group. For the La Boca side, there is the task of regrouping before the next fixture.
