Match report
Sportivo Flores Norte did not need to do anything flashy to dispatch Real San Cristóbal Reservas. With a convincing 2-0 at home, the hosts imposed their logic from the outset and managed their superiority without any scares. Both squads came out in the same shape: a balanced 4-4-2, but it was the home side who found the routes to break the deadlock. The goals arrived without drama, as often happens when a team simply plays better than its opponent in Primera I de la GBA Norte.
What was most interesting was Flores Norte's movement in midfield. Edu Villagra, the experienced 36-year-old midfielder, acted as conductor without needing to overexert himself. Axel Aldunate, on the left, was lethal in transition and scored one of the goals, showing why the board snapped him up years ago on a dirt pitch in Merlo. The home defence worked in an organised fashion thanks to Ethan Rainoldi in the middle, who handled the visitors' attackers without fuss, and Iván Camargo at right-back fulfilling his role without any grand ambitions despite being only sixteen. Adolfo Bengoetxea in goal was not even called upon in any real danger.
Real San Cristóbal found no attacking answers. Valentino Calabrese on the left was held comfortably, and Renzo Vidal in midfield picked up a yellow card without being able to set the tempo. The Reservas side left without a reply, the gap in performance between these rivals in this section of the tournament laid bare. Flores Norte take three points that keep them in the hunt at the top end, while San Cristóbal will have to do some soul-searching before their next fixture.
