Belgrano Villa Crespo1 - 1Liniers

Belgrano Villa Crespo and Liniers shared the points in a fixture that reflected the tactical balance of both squads. With identical 4-4-2 formations and even mentalities, the match unfolded without any major imbalance, although both had their moments to tip the scales. The 1-1 draw was fair: each side scored once and, defensively, they knew how to halt the rival’s attacks when needed.

Gonzalo Simoni, the Belgrano Villa Crespo striker born in Resistencia, was the one who opened the scoring for the home side. At twenty-one years old, the forward showed that his rating of 7.2 is no coincidence: he found the net in a match where the team needed a difference. At the other end, Nazareno Wozniak replied for Liniers with the equaliser. The away striker, already twenty-seven and in the best moment of his career, finished with precision when the chance came. Bastian Zacarías, a centre-back for Belgrano Villa Crespo, put in a solid display in defence and also provided an assist for his team; his performance was well-rounded, though he picked up a yellow card that keeps him on the brink of suspension. Felipe Cerda in the home side’s goal worked without drama, doing his job as a stopper with a rating of 7, nothing that particularly stood out but he was reliable in his interventions.

What this matchday left was a sense of an even share. Belgrano Villa Crespo could not turn home advantage into a decisive edge, while Liniers, despite travelling from the capital, showed enough solidity not to let the hosts impose their game. For both, the point adds to the battle for positions, though neither will have been fully satisfied with this goalless-feeling draw in Primera I.
