Real San Cristóbal Reservas0 - 1Sportivo Flores Norte

Sportivo Flores Norte took all three points from San Cristóbal in a tight match where the difference was made by efficiency in the box. With both teams opting for balanced 4-4-2 set-ups, what unfolded was a scrappy contest, lacking in clear chances, where the visitors made the most of one opportunity and the home side could not find a way through the opposition defence. The goal that decided matchday 1 of Primera I in GBA Norte arrived without much fanfare, in a match where neither squad managed to impose itself convincingly.

Real San Cristóbal Reserves had their moments, but Joaquín Castelli, the thirty-four-year-old striker who has been at the club for years, could not create sustained danger. Alongside him, Lautaro Tabares tried to get down the right without too much success, while the back four with Osvaldo Khouri in defence held firm but without brilliance. For the visitors, Sportivo Flores Norte had the standout performers: Iván Camargo, the full-back of just sixteen years old, showed good attacking and defensive drive, while Valentín Silva moved with purpose in attack. Adolfo Bengoetxea in the visitors' goal did his job securely, though he was rarely troubled. Edu Villagra in midfield was a constant organiser, and Ethan Rainoldi contained the home side's attacks without giving away unnecessary space.

Real San Cristóbal leave with the feeling of having let valuable points slip at home. The Merlo side were not poor, they were simply not sharp in the decisive areas. Sportivo Flores Norte, by contrast, make the most of a perfect away day: three points on the road, a clean sheet and a squad that is responding. For the home side, the challenge will be to improve their finishing ahead of the next fixture; for Flores Norte, maintaining this defensive solidity and adding more going forward will be the key to continuing to climb the table.
