Match report
El Tradicional from Parque Chacabuco took a deserved win from Estrella La Boca's pitch in a match where both sides set up in similar systems, but the visitors were clearer in the moments that mattered. The home side's balanced 4-4-2 shape found no answers against a similarly cautious but more effective approach from the team from the south, who claimed the three points with a goal that settled a tight, tactical fixture in matchday 2 of Primera L - GBA Sur.
Estrella La Boca tried to build the game from its defensive lines with Nene Salvini, the veteran centre-half from Bahía Blanca, who was solid at 35, and Gustavo Zarate on the left flank, who has known since his youth in Tandil how to stop attacks down that side. But at El Tradicional they found an opponent with superior weapons in the middle of the park: Stefano Trentin, a midfielder of only 22 with a rating of 7.7, moved intelligently between the lines, while Yoel Selvaggio in the visitors' defence brought experience and defensive authority at 33. Omar Greenberg on the right and Agus Villafañe on the left created the dangerous advances that led to the only goal of the match. Toño Soldini, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder from Mendoza at Estrella La Boca, was booked and could not be the game-breaker his side needed.
The defeat leaves the home side with work to do at home. El Tradicional from Parque Chacabuco, meanwhile, heads away satisfied: with a well-set defence and a midfield that controlled things without needing to be overly exposed. A fair win that shows who made the most of the chances when football was played in black and white, without drama or surprises.
