Círculo San Telmo3 - 1Futbol Puchito

Círculo San Telmo showed no mercy on matchday two of Primera L - GBA Sur and brushed aside Argentino de Versalles with a rout that reflected the differences between the two squads. The final 3-1 was the result of a home side that knew how to play clearly from the outset, making the most of a balanced shape to control the tempo of the match. The visitors came with similar intentions in terms of structure, but lacked precision at the moments that mattered.

José Romiti was the star of the afternoon in Telmo. The 29-year-old Brazilian central midfielder not only orchestrated play from the middle, but also got himself on the scoresheet with two goals that decided much of the match. His reading of the game and his runs into the opposition box were constant threats that Argentino de Versalles could not neutralise effectively. On the left flank, Pancho Gordon showed the youth and hunger of an 18-year-old full-back who moved fluidly between defence and attack. On the right-hand side, Stefano Velázquez carried out his defensive duties even though he was booked, while Kevin Iriarte in the centre also saw yellow but kept the line firm. León Hoyos pulled one back for the visitors from the forward line, but it was not enough to change the course of the match.

For Círculo San Telmo, this victory cements a strong start to the tournament. For Argentino de Versalles, uncomfortable questions remain about a tactical proposal that found no answers when the opponent pressed. The visitors will have to reorganise quickly if they want to compete properly in this division, because today they simply were not there.
