Federación Constitución2 - 0Ferro Balvanera

Federación Constitución dominated Ferro Balvanera without drama in matchday 11 of the Primera L de CABA, winning 2-0 with a measured display that left no room for surprises. The home side controlled the match from the outset with a balanced four-line structure, while the visitors barely managed to threaten beyond isolated intentions. It was not a spectacular thrashing, but nor did it leave any doubt about who was setting the tempo at every moment of the game.

Federación Constitución's defence worked like a well-oiled machine. Fede Basile, the 35-year-old centre-half who has spent decades reading the game with almost supernatural anticipation, set the tone at the back. Xavier Rizzo, his partner in central defence, completed a solid pairing that was rarely caught out. The full-backs also gave no respite: Alejandro Reyna on the left, with all his Mendoza experience, and the young Stefano Gómez on the right, showing the versatility of both feet that defines him. Ronaldo Bravo in midfield was the perfect link, positioning himself well without needing to run himself into the ground. Ferro barely created clear chances; Luis Fischer, their 30-year-old striker, moved about without finding consistent support, while Horacio Bonansea, the 19-year-old left winger, failed to work out the opposition’s defensive movements. Oliverio Scopelliti, the 37-year-old veteran on Ferro’s right flank, also could not get past his man as he usually does.

For Ferro Balvanera, this defeat is a blow in the tournament and one that invites tactical review. The side found no cracks to slip through and when it tried to press, Constitución counter-attacked with purpose. The home side adds three precious points with another display of efficiency rather than brilliance: sometimes, in Argentine football, that is enough.
