C. y Barrio Parque Centenario1 - 1Pibes Retiro

Centenario and Parque Centenario failed to win at home, though they hardly deserved it either. Pibes Retiro arrived at the south ground with the clear intention of giving nothing away, and the 1-1 draw was perhaps the fairest result in a Primera I of GBA Sur that got under way without any major surprises. Both sides lined up in a 4-4-2 with balanced mindsets, which produced a tight match where space was at a premium and there was rarely any attacking burst from either side.

The home goal came through Osvaldo Lipari, the right-back who, at 26, showed he still has plenty of fire in his legs. Pibes Retiro did not shrink back: Axel Saavedra, the veteran centre-half now approaching thirty, picked out Nazareno Haddad with precision so the striker could level it. El Naza, at thirty-one, moved between the lines with the experience of someone who has seen it all. Nicolás Cadel, the left winger aged just twenty, had a leading role in the visitors' attacking play, although he picked up a booking that will leave a mark heading into the next fixtures.

At the back, Cris Reyes and Matías Bruschi held the home rearguard together without major scares. Both centre-halves, each just over twenty-three, carried out their duties without allowing Retiro to produce a meaningful attack. Jonathan Vacca, the visitors' right-back, was more of a stopper than a creator, fitting in with his side's defensive approach. Noé Porras, the youngster of seventeen who wore the home shirt, was unable to find the space to do any damage up front. On a first matchday where the fireworks were absent, Centenario were left with the feeling of two points dropped; Retiro, with one gained.
