Vet. Núñez2 - 0La Verdad de Coghlan

Veteranos de Núñez did not have to do much to overcome La Verdad de Coghlan on the pitch at Donato Álvarez. A 2-0 that neatly sums up a home side that found its spaces without ever needing to overexert itself, while the visitors barely managed to threaten. Both set out their lines with a similar approach —balanced 4-4-2 formations— but the execution made the difference. Galo Arestizabal, a 27-year-old midfielder with a rating of 8.4, was the clearest expression of that superiority: he scored twice and made the left flank his own, with nobody from Coghlan finding a way to contain him.

While Arestizabal shone, Veteranos also had the disciplined work of Hernán Krawczyk in shielding the defence —that 28-year-old defensive midfielder who gets the job done without fuss— and the solidity of Turco Castellano at the back. La Verdad de Coghlan tried, but their attacking weapons caused little trouble. Lalo Mendoza, the 29-year-old playmaker, failed to create any play from midfield; Cesar Vigliani picked up an early yellow in defence and that conditioned his movement. Ricardo Tonelli, a 16-year-old youngster, came on with good intentions in attack but without the support he needed. Leonel Bisi and Mario Santi completed the task up front for the home side sufficiently, without the need for anything spectacular.

What was clear is that Veteranos have real power in attack when the spaces appear, and Arestizabal knew how to make the most of them with real judgement. For La Verdad de Coghlan, the job in the coming matchdays will be to find something more than good intentions: they need their midfield figures to organise the attack better and their defence not to make the positioning errors that left Arestizabal on his own. This 2-0 margin could well have been wider.
