Yellow cards and suspensions in a football manager
A yellow card is a warning from the referee; accumulate them and the player is suspended and misses the next official match. A red card sends him off and also brings a ban.
In football two yellows in one match make a red, and yellows accumulated over a competition end in a one-match ban. Manager games copy that logic, and the manager has to know who is on the edge.
In ELDT, 4 accumulated yellow cards mean a one-match ban, and a red card (straight or for two yellows) is also one match. Accumulated yellows reset to zero at the end of the season. The ban applies only to official matches: league, cup, play-offs and promotion ties. In friendlies and private leagues a suspended player can play. If you leave him in the line-up for an official match, the game takes him out and fields the best available man in his position.
Players with high aggression pick up more cards. The Suspensions section shows who is on 3 yellows and one away from missing the next official match, and which upcoming opponents have suspended players.
