Sportivo Flores Sur2 - 0Federación Constitución

Sportivo Flores Sur made no mistake at home and put Federación Constitución to the sword with a 2-0 win that left no room for debate. On matchday 8 of the Primera L de CABA, the home side carried out its tactical plan effectively: two teams lined up in 4-4-2, with balanced mindsets, but enormous differences in their finishing. Walter Montero opened the scoring just before half-time with a goal that reflected the dominance Flores Sur had been exerting. Adriano Bernardo, the twenty-year-old striker who only recently arrived from Merlo, wrapped things up after the break to give definite shape to a comfortable victory that keeps the team alive in the race.

The home side's defensive display was the pillar on which the win was built. Mirko Baragiola at left-back and Camilo García on the right shut down Federación Constitución's attempts without too much trouble. García, the 21-year-old youngster who arrived from Tucumán three years ago, showed composure in his defensive work with a 7.7 rating, the highest on the pitch. In midfield, Levi Jablonski of Federación Constitución became tangled up in his own intentions; an early yellow card left him hampered for the rest of the match. Olivier Berecibar, the 34-year-old Mendoza veteran who plays in the Florense attack, had little to celebrate individually, but his presence helped the transition play that led to the goals.

Federación Constitución could not find the gaps it needed to do damage. Lucas Domínguez in the visitors' goal, despite his 6.6 rating, was not tested beyond wayward efforts. Fede Basile, the 35-year-old centre-half who has spent far too many years in the Primera, finished the match as what he is: a defender who no longer has the answers modern football demands. Sportivo Flores Sur takes three points that feel a bit underwhelming for a team playing at home, but which should not be sneered at in the table.
