Sportivo Belgrano R Norte earned a narrow win against General Alvear de Once in matchday 6 of the Primera L de CABA. The 1-0 scoreline does not lie: it was a tight match in which both squads respected each other from balanced 4-4-2 line-ups, with no major tactical imbalances or glaring defensive mistakes. Olivier Pessina scored the decisive goal, making sure Belgrano kept the advantage of home turf without needing any excessive display. General Alvear de Once came from the province intent on causing trouble, but it was not enough to overturn the result away from home.
The home side controlled the pace of the contest with Stefano Resa and Kiki Arrarte in defence, although the Salta-born centre-back picked up a yellow card during the second half. Alberto Braun moved the ball from midfield with the characteristic circulation of someone who does things without overthinking, while Santi Yedro, at thirty and in his physical prime, had just enough space to trouble the visiting back line. For General Alvear de Once, José Riquelme tried things down the left and earned himself a booking, and Claudio Gallardo held the right flank with the craft of a veteran now thirty-two years into football.
The match was exactly what it promised to be: controlled physicality with no major scares for either goalkeeper. Belgrano took the golden chance with Pessina in midfield, turning his ability to read the game into the decisive goal. General Alvear de Once never gave up, but found a solid opponent who would not be broken. In the table, Belgrano adds three valuable points to their tally; for the visitors, this defeat means they will need to be sharper in upcoming matchdays.
