Prov. Saavedra2 - 1Deportivo Villa Crespo Veteranos

Provincial Saavedra were not the best, but they were the most effective. In a match where both sides set out their stall without any major tactical surprises, the home side won 2-1 against Deportivo Villa Crespo Veteranos in even conditions, with two balanced 4-4-2 line-ups that showed little of what is expected in these mid-table fixtures. The visitors came with intent, Tato Sassi scored — rating of 6.9 that was not enough to change the course — but Provincial found their openings at the right moments and made the most of them when they had to.

Iván Rosati, a thirty-three-year-old left-back who knows the trade by heart, scored one of the home side's goals. At that age, when many are already looking towards retirement, the experienced defender still has the reactions to get where others do not. Nicolás Greco in midfield was the constant organiser (rating 7.7), that kind of midfielder who does not stand out in every action but when you watch the full match you realise he was involved in everything. Pipa Loncón, a nineteen-year-old striker from Rosario (7.6), brought urgency to his movement; Adolfo Hoyos (27 years old, 7.5) added experience in attack. Walter Mazur, on the visitors' side, delivered an assist from right-back but could not prevent his side leaving empty-handed. Villa Crespo battled, had chances, but that football of symmetrical set-ups favoured the side playing at home and who knew the timing better.

What Provincial were left with was a victory that adds to the table, albeit without much sparkle. For the visitors, the frustration of having been there, of having Sassi's goal but not being able to withstand the pressure. Matchday 6 in Primera L de CABA where the home points carry more weight than any elegant analysis of the game.
