Unión Palermo Hollywood1 - 0Club de Floresta Este

Unión Palermo Hollywood earned a deserved victory against Club de Floresta Este in a match where both squads sought the same tactical balance, but with different resources to sustain it. The 1-0 was the result of a tight afternoon, where the difference was not in the work-rate but in the home side’s ability to make the most of what they created. Gonzalo Ulloa scored the only goal, rewarding the steady work of a team that never gave up, even though the opposition offered nothing for free.

With both formations set up in a 4-4-2 and with balanced mentality, the match was decided by fine margins. Unión Palermo Hollywood had an organised defensive block led by Lucio Bottani, who at 24 read the away attack’s movements well. Eric Zambelli on the left was a constant presence down the flank, while Pichu Kovaleski in midfield did his holding job with the calmness that defines him, although he ended up booked. Floresta Este relied on the experience of Lolo Leyva and Ramón Anasagasti, but both contributed little going forward. Ángel Irala, with a rating of 6.4, did not have an inspired night in the visitors’ attack and was more of an inconvenience than a real threat.

For those from Palermo Hollywood, there is the satisfaction of taking all three points in a matchday when other contenders also won. For Floresta Este, the bitter feeling of leaving empty-handed from a match where the approach was solid but lacked punch in the final metres. Ulloa justified the home side’s attacking gamble with his goal; a youngster from Merlo who arrived without fanfare and who yesterday showed why he is at Unión. In the Primera L de CABA, these details are paid for.
