Match report
Nueva Estrella Boedo and Sportivo Floresta Sur met on matchday one of Primera I - GBA Norte and never really crossed paths. The 0-0 that sealed the fixture at the home ground was a reflection of two teams that backed prudence, with identical 4-4-2 formations and balanced mentalities that ended up cancelling each other out. Neither side looked to take too many risks on a day when both seemed content to pick up a point each.
Diego Bevilacqua in Estrella Boedo's goal had little to do, which speaks to the control they exerted over the match. The experienced Víctor Serrano on the home left barely found space to cause any problems, while Alberto Najib, the 33-year-old midfielder who has spent decades in the football of the conurbation, did his job without flourishes but without any serious errors. For the visitors, Vidal Cabrera at left-back was the only player who dared to create a little more, though with limited results. The midfield areas controlled the rhythm of the game without allowing either goal to come under any real threat.
What remains hanging is whether this caution was strategy or a lack of resources. Estrella Boedo, with their settled squad, could have used home advantage with more aggression, but chose to keep things organised. Floresta Sur, in turn, did not risk anything away from home and took a point that anyone would say is a gain on the opposition pitch. For both teams, matchday one served more to avoid defeat than to secure victory. A start where caution outweighed ambition.
