Match report
El Porvenir de San Telmo had to settle for a point at home against Real San Cristóbal Reservas, in a match where both teams set out with similar approaches but without the precision needed to tip the balance. The 1-1 draw was a reflection of an evenly balanced game, with no great spaces or obvious imbalances, where each side got what it needed without any greater ambition. Dylan Talamonti put the home side ahead with a goal that seemed to settle it, but Chacho Troncon found the equaliser for the visitors and left everything set up for a second half in which nobody managed to break that mirror.
At El Porvenir they worked well from midfield. Talamonti, a 27-year-old midfielder with a 7.2 rating, carried out his holding and transition role solidly, to the point that before scoring he was already dictating the tempo of the match. Aaron Guevara, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder from Mendoza, was the one who supplied the attacking play and provided the assist that created danger going forward. Damian Mazur had a controlled game at left-back, although he picked up a yellow card that marked his performance. At the other end, Lautaro Tabares moved the ball on the right without overdoing it, while Troncon, with his 29 years and experience, knew how to find the right moment to restore the balance when his side needed it most.
What was left on the table was both sides' ability to build sustained attacks. The 4-4-2 formations of one and the other produced tactical symmetry but also a certain attacking monotony. El Porvenir failed to make the most of their early lead; Real San Cristóbal had no ambitions to push for more after the equaliser. Matchday 3 in Primera I GBA Norte leaves the home side without a home win, while the visitors take away a result that, though not a bad one, does not give much to talk about.
