Match report
Patriotas Pompeya took a comfortable win on the pitch of Sportivo Floresta Sur with a 3-1 scoreline that left no room for argument. The visitors, with a balanced mentality and an identical 4-4-2 formation to the home side, were superior in the decisions that matter: scoring and avoiding defensive errors. Floresta Sur kept the will to battle, but lacked precision at key moments to make the most of their chances. The home side’s 4-4-2 was also sound in approach, but the execution was not up to what the opponent demanded.
Gabriel Filippa, the 35-year-old centre-back at Patriotas, was the organiser at the back for the visitors with a rating of 7.5 that justified his experience in every reading of the game. Saúl Tassone, the 33-year-old goalkeeper with 7.2, did not have too much to do but stayed focused when called upon. In attack, Nahuel Peñalva scored by making the most of his youth (17 years) and ability to break down the right, while Bauti Schiavi and Marcelo Álvarez completed the rout with a goal apiece. The three goals came naturally, with Floresta Sur unable to put together a defence capable of containing the danger. Yago Tassinari, the 30-year-old striker with a rating of 6.9, scored the home side’s goal but it was not enough; he also picked up a yellow card, reflecting the frustration of a team that could not sustain its play. Pablo Zappa, the right-back with 6.5, provided an assist but was left exposed in defence against the visitors’ wingers.
For Floresta Sur, this result on matchday 3 of Primera I del GBA Norte leaves a bitter taste: they played with ideas similar to their rivals but lacked the attacking ruthlessness and defensive solidarity that Patriotas showed. Pompeya, by contrast, leave Bajo Flores with three points that put them in a good position in the table. The difference was not vast in approach, but it was in the details.
