Match report
Belgrano Villa Crespo and Ferro Constitución shared the points in a match where neither side found a way to break the deadlock. It was a balanced fixture in Primera I de GBA Norte, where both 4-4-2 line-ups tried to impose their game but did not quite manage it. The goalless draw left the home side with the feeling that they had controlled more of the action, but without the necessary precision to finish in the away box. Ferro, meanwhile, did its defensive job and left satisfied with a point on the road.
Theo Zimei, Belgrano's right-back at just twenty-one, had a decent match down the right flank, showing that he is comfortable on both feet in attack and defence. His 7.2 rating reflects a solid outing, nothing flashy but nothing worrying either. On the opposite side, Julián Atxaga, now thirty-two, did his experienced job on the left. Centre-back Lionel Lugones, for the visitors, was a constant presence who shut down space. Belgrano pressed forward with Gonzalo Simoni up top, another youngster with a 7.2 rating who could not find the gaps to trouble Ferro's back line effectively. The tactical balance was almost complete: two sides with balanced mentality who prioritised avoiding mistakes over taking risks in search of victory.
What remained was a bland match, the sort nobody remembers three months later. For Belgrano, playing at home without being able to make use of home advantage is points dropped. Ferro went away pleased with the share of the spoils, although their defensive display owed more to the home side's lack of clarity than to their own fine work. At this stage of the group, both needed a win. They came back with nothing. In Primera I de GBA Norte, those joyless draws are commonplace, but they are also the prelude to the fans' boredom.
