AD Recoleta2 - 0Liga Núñez

AD Recoleta secured a comfortable victory over Liga Núñez on matchday 10 of Primera I GBA Oeste, with a 2-0 scoreline that reflected, without too many scares, the superiority of a home side that controlled the tempo of the match. With symmetrical formations and similar mentalities, both squads sought balance, but it was the home side who found the means to break the visitors’ resistance. The goals came from Ramón Cisneros, the 24-year-old centre-back who once again showed his goalscoring ability from the back, and David Turetta, the barely seventeen-year-old right winger who continues to earn minutes in the first division with real class. Cisneros also provided an assist in addition to his goal, evidence of his influence in both phases of play.

Joaco Román, between the posts for Recoleta, did not have to do anything extraordinary; Liga Núñez rarely threatened and looked poor in attack. Left-back Lucca Gil and right winger Vicente Rosas tried to create danger down the visitors’ flank, but Gil’s 28 years and Rosas’s 30 were not enough to break a defensive system that worked well. Bruno Wieczorek, Liga Núñez’s 18-year-old left midfielder, was lively but lacked end product. In defence, Marcelo Zanini once again fulfilled his role: the 28-year-old centre-back from Resistencia who carries the responsibility of holding the lines together, although on this occasion he was booked for going in a little too firmly. Geremías Soldini, meanwhile, served as a sponge at left-back.

For AD Recoleta, the victory consolidates their position near the top. For Liga Núñez, finding attacking consistency remains an unresolved issue; so far, the visiting side have failed to make themselves uncomfortable, even in spells. Recoleta continue to grow in the tournament with victories that, while not spectacular, provide stability. The next fixture will show whether this solidity is merely a good run or the start of something more serious.
