Ferro Balvanera and Deportivo Villa Crespo Veterans shared the points in a match where both sides showed each other respect from the outset, without overextending themselves or taking unnecessary risks. The 1-1 scoreline reflected two teams that found the net but could not break the deadlock on a pitch where the game stayed within the bounds of the expected. With identical formations and balanced mentalities, the match had more of a trench battle than a spectacle, although it never became boring.
Tomi Cortés opened the scoring for Ferro Balvanera with his first-half strike, a goal that might have settled the contest had the home side maintained that efficiency. The 21-year-old Mendoza full-back was active in his area and scored the goal that seemed to be steering Balvanera towards victory. However, Tato Sassi, a 22-year-old striker for the away side with a rating of 7.2, levelled matters with his goal, keeping Villa Crespo alive in the contest. Salvador Zanchi, the 33-year-old holding midfielder at Ferro, provided an assist that showed his experience in midfield, although it was not enough to break the deadlock. Hugo Montoya in the home defence and Luis Serrano between the sticks for the visitors did their jobs without major scares. Xavier Viva on the visitors' left flank and Pancho De Santis in a supporting attacking role were active presences without upsetting the balance.
With this result, Ferro adds a point in the race to establish themselves at the top end, although the feeling is that they left points on the table by not making the most of their lead. For Villa Crespo, the draw serves as a valid starting point away from home, although it does not represent a major leap up the table.
