Nueva Estrella Almagro and Sportivo Belgrano R Norte met in a match where neither side managed to impose its will, a draw with no winner that left both in the same starting position. Horacio Saborido opened the scoring for the home side, taking advantage of a move that the veteran Chilean centre-back handled with all the experience of his 34 years. The goal seemed to set the result towards the home side, but Gabi Castelo, a 22-year-old winger with an outstanding rating, found the equaliser before the end. Both teams came with similar line-ups, balanced 4-4-2s, which predicted a match played at an even tempo and with no tactical surprises.
The fixture was marked by a contest in which the full-backs were the main figures. Leonardo Zanchetta, the young Mendoza-born left-back of just 17 years old, carried out solid defensive work on his side, containing Yago Zazzaroni's advances. On the other flank, Augusto Zurita worked tirelessly down the home side's left wing. In midfield, Renzo Gordon fed the home attack with an assist that ended in Saborido's goal, while Stefano Resa, from the visiting defence, also took part in the build-up with an assist that led to Castelo's goal. It was a match in which both defences gave way at specific moments, with neither establishing itself as a clear benchmark for the game.
For Nueva Estrella Almagro, the home draw hurts more than the table suggests. They had the chance to open up a gap with a home win, but the stalemate leaves them with a bitter taste. Sportivo Belgrano R Norte takes a valuable point from their visit, though they also left with the feeling that they had given ground when they could have pressed harder. Both teams will have to review these defensive frailties before the next matchday.
