San Cayetano FC5 - 2C. y Barrio Parque Centenario

San Cayetano FC thrashed Parque Centenario at the stadium with a 5-2 scoreline that leaves no room for debate. The home side executed its 4-4-2 with precision from the very first minute, making the most of every chance it created while the visitors could barely keep the early balance. With two identical line-ups on the pitch, the match should have been even, but San Cayetano imposed its rhythm from the outset and Parque Centenario never found a way to halt the onslaught. Vicente Levin opened the scoring early on the right flank, and from there it was downhill for the visitors.

Antonio Santoro was the key: the 22-year-old centre-half not only did the job defensively but turned up where nobody expected him, contributing both goals and assists. His partner at the back, Felipe Simionato, stayed solid, although Leonardo Calegari had to get close to the referee more than once to contain Adrián Escalante, who managed to pull one back for Parque Centenario. Javier Triboldi in goal had little to do; his defenders made life easy for him. In midfield, Oliverio Borrelli tried to create something for the team in blue and white but was swallowed up by the tide. Nilo Azarola, who provided an assist, could not change the course of things with his work in midfield.

The scoreline could have been even more one-sided. Parque Centenario scored two goals, including another from Escalante, but without real attacking conviction. San Cayetano completed five goals without breaking sweat, which suggests they are a step above in Primera I GBA Sur. For the visitors, this heavy defeat is a significant setback in the table. The home side come away from the match with the air of contenders; the other will need urgent repair work.
